Annaghdown beat St James in the Div 1 league played in Mervue on Saturday evening, both sides struggled against a gale force wind but in end the visitors deserved the points, goals from Niall Kinneen and Anthony Pender in the second half laid the foundation for the five point victory.
We trailed by a point at the break after playing into the gale 0-5 to 0-4 with points from Damien Comer 0-2 and one each from Cathal Coen and Keith Greaney, second half points from Comer, Brendan Dooley, Enda Mullarkey and Greaney sealed the victory on a 2-10 to 1-8 score line.
