Annaghdown were beaten by Milltown in the League on Friday evening in Cregg by two points 0-9 to 0-7, we had the advantage of playing with wind and rain in the opening half and went in at the break leading by two points 0-5 to 0-3 with scores from Keith Greaney 0-3 and Nial Kinneen 0-2. In part two we added two points to our first half tally with Greaney and Kinneen again on target.

Our team was: J Healy, J Creaven, M Naughton, J Kerin, C Coen, A Pender, D Meehan, C Duggan, W Fallon, A Burke, E Mullarkey, M Devaney, N Kinneen, E Curry, K Greaney.

Annaghdown beat Kilkerrin-Clonberne in the first round of the North Minor ‘A’ championship that was played in Clonberne, it was a seven point victory in the finish but we struggled for long periods in both halves to gain control. The hosts were first to score but Jason Walsh with a free had the sides level after twelve minutes and were then hit with a goal and point to trail by 1-2 to 0-1 midway through the half. We hit a purple patch in the final ten minutes of half to score 2-2 without replay with goals from Jack Cassidy and Sean Forde while Adam Quirke and John Curry added the points to give us a 2-3 to 1-4 lead at the break.

A brace of points from Walsh and Curry extended our lead after the break and we added three more before the finish from Sean Forde, Adam Quirke and Sean Fahy while Kilkerrin-Clonberne added two points to their fist half tall to leave the final score 2-8 to 1-4.

The team was: C Forde, A Mulryan, N Kerr, N Halloran, C Hegarty, C Potter, C O’Toole, J Walsh (0-2), C Scully, E Morris, A Quirke (0-2), J Curry (0-2), J Cassidy (1-0), R Forde, S Forde (1-1). Subs used: S Fahy (0-1) C Forde, D Kilcommins, D Hegarty, G Greaney
