We lost to Corofin in Div 1 league on Friday evening by 2-8 to 0-8, it was a close game in the opening half with the winners leading by two at the break, and they scored the three opening points before Niall Kinneen opened our scoring with a point from play after eight minutes and points followed from Ciarian Duggan play and Kinneen with two from frees to tie the scores at four points each with six minutes to the break. Corofin finished the half with two points to go in at the break leading by 0-6 to 0-4.
The second half saw the winners extend the lead to five points with a goal in the opening minutes but Annaghdown shot back with four points in a row, three from Kinneen and one from Conor Moloney to leave it a one point ball game, but that was as good as it got for the visitors as Corofin added 1-2 with Brian Raftery scoring their second goal.
It was a game that either side could have won but the winners could always able step up a gear when required. Annaghdown now have a battle on their hands to remain in the top flight having only one point on the table from four games. Our remaining games are against St Michaels, Ml Breathnach, Milltown, St James and Mountbellew Moylough..
