Annaghdown U-13 football team showed a great response this weekend after losing their second round Division 1 League match to Loughrea by beating local rivals Corofin 3-5 to 2-3 with a great display of football under lights in Cregg on Friday evening. This win got their league campaign back on track and went on to beat a very strong Ballinasloe team 3-8 to 1-9 Sunday morning. This two wins over the weekend put a place in a league final back in their own hands Team James Finnegan, Conor Murray, Sean Lynch, Jack Reynolds, Daithi Kilcommins, Adam Casserly, Michael Fitzpatrick, Daragh McAndrew, Riley McEleney, Dara Curry, Jack Dowd, Alex Murphy, David Quinn, Sean Connaire, Ryan Sheridan, Evan Walshe, Jamie Martin, Michael Sheil, Dáire Crehan, Ali McGloin. Our U-16 hurlers were the first hurling team in the club to enter championship action in 2016 and got off to a narrow but deserved victory against Killimor on a cold but dry afternoon in Cregg on Saturday on a final score of 4-8 to 2-13.
