Our final game in the Div 1 football league was played in Cregg on Saturday against Mountbellew-Moylough and the visitors had an easy ten point victory on a final score of 4-4 to 0-6, at the break we trailed by just two points 0-4 to 1-3 with scores from Frankie Burke 0-2 and one each from Wesley Fallon and Kevin McGrath. In the second half we only added two points to our first half tally with Ciarian Duggan and McGrath on target as the winners shot 3-1. Both sides missed numerous chances both with and against the breeze but at the end of the day goals win games and the fact that we were reduced to fourteen players early in the half put extra pressure on our over worked defence. On Sunday morning in Cregg we played Meelick-Eyrecourt in the North Div 8 semi-final and we were defeated in the end by three points 1-5 to 1-8, the visitors had the benefit of the breeze in the opening half and lead at the break by 1-6 to no score with Graham Connelly scoring their goal, in part two the visitors were first to score to extend their lead to ten points but we finally got on the scoring list when sub Thomas Murphy pointed followed by point number two from veteran Liam O’Flynn, Patrick McLoughlin then finished a cross field ball to the net to make it a five point game , but Meelick-Eyrecourt replied with a point and despite scoring the last three points of the game from Murphy 0-2 and Tomas Forde we were unable to get that second goal to tie the game .

We have two football finals still to play County Div 5 against An Cheathru Rua and North U-21 A final against Corofin.
