Our Junior footballers beat Caherlistrane in the Div 5 North GPC league final played in Tuam Stadium on Saturday, Matthew Duggan got us on the score board after ten minutes when he pointed from play but Caherlistrane shot 1-1 in the next two minutes with both scores coming from Brian Keane, Keith Greaney then scored three points in the row to leave the sides level at the break 0-4 to 1-1.
Annaghdown landed four points without reply in part two from Justin Flaherty, Greaney, Ian and Damien Burke but a brace of points from Shane O’Connor and Keane brought Caherlistrane back in contention as only two points separated the sides 0-8 to 1-3, but points from Damien Burke and Keith Greaney saw Annaghdown collect the silverware on a final score of 0-10 to 1-4.
