We were beaten in the North Minor ‘A’ final by Mountbellew-Moylough in Tuam Stadium on Saturday evening by 0-16 to 2-7, the winners lead by 0-5 to no score after the first quarter but we trailed at the break by 1-4 to 0-9. In part two the winners added points before Fahy opened our scoring with a point but John Daly replied for the winners scoring his 6th point, Ryan Forde then raised a white flag and was involved in our 2nd goal as he found Curry who made no mistake to score his 2nd goal to level the game 2-6 to 0-12, but the winners outscored us by 0-4 to 0-1 in the closing stages to book a place in the county final. Well done to the management and team on reaching the final after winning the County B final last year. Congrats to our Under 12 Girls B side on defeating Kilconly in the County final last Sunday evening. Every girl worked tirelessly against strong opposition and we eventually ran out winners on a score line of 4-9 to 2-4. We started very strongly and raced into a 1-1 to no score lead, only for Kilconly to level , halfway through the half we upped our efforts again to go in at the break 5 points up , 2-3 to 1-1. In the second half our forwards picked off the scores to keep our lead building and , with everyone working really hard to contain a spirited Kilconly fight back , we ran out deserving winners in the end. The joy in the girls faces afterwards was great to see and we would like to thank all who followed the team , both at the game and in the tour of the parish afterwards. This ends the under 12 season and management would like to thank both set’s of girls , first and second teams , for the work they have put in all year and we hope to see them all playing for the club again next year.
