U-16 Football:

Well done to our under- 16 boys on a fantastic win against Salthill in the County semi-final last Wednesday evening. , played in Salthill’s Prairie ground. In an even first half, we turned over 2 points to the good 2-2 to 0-6 with each side playing good football despite the bad conditions. The second half proved to be backs to the wall affair, as our back line had to contain a continued onslaught from the home side. The lads defended as if their lives depended on it and the blocking, tackling and calmness under pressure was an inspiration to everyone on the field. With good use of the ball out of defence, our forward line who were operating on limited possession, proved clinical and finished practically every opportunity that came their way. We gradually took control of the game and the last quarter saw us play some of the best football we have produced all year, and allowed us to run out 9 point winners on a score line of 6-3 to 1-9. In what was a total team performance every player involved made a huge contribution to the outcome and we wish them the best of luck in the final.
