Our Minor footballers beat Monivea-Abbey in Tuam Stadium on Friday evening in a very enjoyable encounter, we got the ideal start with two early from Eoin Curry and Darragh Fahy but at the break it was all square 2-3 to 1-6.  Ryan Forde, Jason Walsh and Fahy added our other first scores; it was a game  that Monivea-Abbey at times  looked like overrunning Annaghdown but the Maroon and White outfit always recovered and put in a storming finish to win by four points.

In part two Eoin Curry scored his goal this time from a penalty as points followed from Conor Maloney with three and Daragh Fahy who scored two while Pete Lynch and Patrick McLoughlin also raised white flags.  Final score Annaghdown 3-10 Monivea-Abbey 1-12.The team was: D Groake, C Small, N Kerr, C Potter, P Glynn, J Curry, C Hegarty, R Forde, J Walsh, C Maloney, S Forde, P Lynch, D Fahy, E Curry, P McLoughlin. Subs: A Hardiman, N Halloran, C Garrett.

We lost to Caherlistrane in the junior championship replay after extra time in Corofin on Sunday on a final score of 1-9 to 0-14, we held a slender one point lead at half time 1-4 to 0-6 with scores from Justin Flaherty 1-0 with  points from Keith Greaney 0-2 and Martin Scully and Damien Burke who scored one each, in part two Kevin Moylan, Burke and Greaney scored our three points as the game finished level 1-7 to 0-10. We were outscored four points to two in extra time with Conor Maloney and Damien Burke on the score sheet. The team was: J Healy, D Burke, S Moylan, J Curry, T Burke, M Naughton, M Duggan, R Forde, I Burke, C Kerin, J Flaherty, K Greaney, D Melia, M Scully, K Moylan.

Despite still missing many players from last years successful hurling run and also having a long break since their last match, Annaghdown Intermediate hurlers lost their second last 2015 championship match by the score line of 1-11 to Oranmore's 3-19 played in Ballindereen on Saturday night.

This score does not reflect the effort on the night by the lads which was gusty and hard fought until the very end with the breaks going to a very determined and strong Oranmore team.

Team: D Groarke, A.Golden, M.O'Neill, R Newell. A Pierce,  S Collier , A. Newell ,F Doherty , T Burke B.Creaven, E Mullarkey, J Comer, D Comer, N Kinneen, C.Coen.

Sub used: J King

Our U-16 footballers  have reached the county final by beating Salthill by 6-03 to 1-09 last night. Final not fixed yet.
