Our senior championship run came to an end on Sunday evening when were beaten by Mountbellew –Moylough in the quarter final in Tuam Stadium, trailing at the break by six points 1-4 to 2-7 we were always struggling to stay in the game in the second half and we were eventfully beaten by the better team on the day, our scorers were; Damien Comer 1-2, K McGrath 1-0, F Burke 0-3, N Kinneen 0-1. On Friday evening in Tuam Stadium we beat Monivea-Abbey in the Junior ‘A’ championship by 2-12 to 0-10 for the winners it was a good blend of youth and experience that contributed to the victory, we lead at the break by 2-5 to 0-3, with P J Fahy scoring our opening goal and Tom Forde shot goal number two from the penalty spot mid way through the half, also on the scoring sheet was Dara Fahy in that opening half. The second half saw both sides score seven points with Dara Fahy, Ryan Forde, P.J.Fahy, Patrick McLoughlin and Stephen Burke on the mark for Annaghdown.
