Annaghdown intermediate hurlers were beaten by Ballindereen in the championship on Sunday last by 1-13 to 1-9. A Cathal Gaffney goal left only a point between the sides with four minutes remaining but Ballindereen scored the last three points of the game to record victory.

Ballindereen played with wind advantage in the opening half and lead by 1-7 to 0-4 at half time with Annaghdown’s scores coming from three Jonathan Comer frees and a Niall Kinneen score from play. Ballindereen added three early second half scores to stretch 1-10 to 0-4 in front but Annaghdown responded. Jonathan Comer added four further points to his tally, Shane Collier also pointed and when Cathal Gaffney a point separated the sides at 1-10 to 1-9. Ballindereen though scored three unanswered points late on as they secured the victory. Subs: Alan Newell, Brian Creaven. Our minor hurlers lost out to Liam Mellows on Friday evening. Annaghdown lead by 0-8 to 0-6 at half time but failed to make use of their wind advantage. In the second half Liam Mellows were on top and they won out by 2-18 to 1-10.Annaghdowns final group game is away to Tommy Larkin’s. Team: Darren Groarke, Darragh Scully, Jason Walsh, D.J. Under 16 hurling semi-final against Cappataggle is refixed for this Thursday-check fixtures and venue

Our under 14 Feile winning hurling team conducted a tour of the parish and visited the local primary schools last week. Thanks to all who lit fires and came out to congratulate the team.
