Boot Camp 2012 was a fantastic success for the club and for all the people who took part, many of whom are not members of the club or even from the village. It seemed like a no brainer this year to run Boot Camp again and so low and behold we're kicking off on the 6th of February.
Last year we supplied a nutritionist who spoke for an hour every night about all the right foods to eat and any dietary needs the boot campers had. The nutritionist also did weekly weigh ins with a lot of the boot campers and many people found this to be a huge help.
This year however the club is solely concentrating on the exercise element of Boot Camp. This is where every boot camper reefed the benefits and had the best craic.
From pushing cars, to rolling bales, to crawling under nets, playing tug of war and working hard, it all proved to be great fun and a huge benefit to the people who took part.
To think that €10 a week could get you in shape, and support your local club as well as creating fantastic morale around the place is just incredible.
The community and club spirit during boot camp last year was at an all time high and that is the main reason we are running it again.
This year we are offering boot campers a special rate. Anyone over 18 can pay €10 every Wednesday night or get a sponsorship card and instead of an €80 cost, the sponsorship only needs to be €60 and so you save €20.
So Wednesday night the 6th of February get out from the couch, turn off the telly and give an hour to your physical health! Boot Camp starts at 7.30 but registration will be from 6.15 to 7.15
Don't worry if you miss the first night, grab a friend and get fit together!
Cards, and all information are available from Brian O'Donoghue, Stephen Murphy, Donie Kelly (Jnr) Sharon Sibbald and Jacinta Kelly.
