Tinryland G.F.C. club notes for Nationalist edition Tuesday 30th November 2021
All roads lead to our club grounds in Rathcrogue this coming weekend for the Tinryland Christmas Village experience. The event will run from Friday evening 3rd December at 4 p.m. until Sunday evening 5th December. Features include an outdoor Christmas marketwith over 100 stalls together with Santa’s grotto and express train and Mrs Claus’s workshop. A tree lighting ceremony and carols by candlelight will take place in the front car park on Friday at 8 p.m. Legendary Dublin footballer Barney Rock together with his son Dean will launch the event on Friday afternoon. A shuttle bus will be in operation from O’Brien Road Carlow. Tickets for the event can be purchased online at www.eventbrite.com and also on the gate over the 3 days.
All proceeds from the weekend will be used to construct a new modern gym adjacent to our clubhouse.
On the field of play our U20 team maintained their unbeaten record in the Stryve U20 super league with a hard-fought win over Ballon on Friday last in a game that was in the balance until the closing stages when Paddy Regan scored the all-important goal. Tinryland’s next game in the competition will be away to Asca on Saturday next 4th December at 6 p.m.
The A.G.M. of Tinryland G.F.C. will take place on Friday 17th December at 8 p.m. Nominations for all positions and motions must be emailed to secretary.tinryland.carlow.gaa.ie no later than this Friday 3rd December.
The club lotto is now heading for 9300 euro and can be played online via the Tinryland G.F.C. clubforce app or by purchasing a ticket from any committee member.
