Team News

AFL1 Lucan Sarsfields 0-18, Cuala 1-11, 29/6/2022 12th Lock

Lucan Seniors and Cuala started the game at a steady pace and the first 10 minutes saw little difference between the sides on the scoreboard. Lucan gradually gathered momentum and built up a lead with 2 goal chances missed in the first half that would have made it very difficult for Cuala in the second half, but the Cuala keeper pulled of some great saves to keep Lucan within touch. Lucan started the second half with some very positive interplay that edged them further away from Cuala who kept in touch by threatening in the goal mouth only to be keep at bay by Cathal Doody who pulled off some lovely saves looking very confident for his second chance in goal for the Seniors. Some other good performances from our U19s Jack  Lawlor and Matt Coogan also gave the management some new options. Mark Lavin was also very unlucky not to have a goal with a powerful shoot being blocked by a tremendous dive by the Cuala fullback the full force of which left him winded for a few minutes. A late change saw the introduction of Finn Bruton who charged down the side line only to be thwarted by the final whistle

U8 & U11 Hurling

After the last 2 weekends of being on the road, it was the U11s turn to host. The U11s were joined by their club mates from the U8s team to host Commercials for a series of Hurling Challenge Matches.

We were fortunate with the weather, resulting in near perfection conditions for hurling. We had over 70 players playing on the morning with some great examples of skill, teamwork and gameplay. We would like to thank Commercials for participating and we look forward to the return leg in the near future. We would like to thank the coaches and mentors for helping organise and run the morning.

U11 Camogie

The U11 girls finished up for the summer on Friday evening with an internal blitz. They were absolutely delighted to be joined on the night by Emer Keenan, Laura Sharkey and Ali Dunne from our senior camogie team, who chatted to the girls, watched them play, gave some advice and presented the girls with medals at the end. Thank you ladies, you definitely helped make it an evening to remember for our U11 girls

Congratulations to the orange team who had a narrow victory to win the U11 blitz.
