Athenry Community Council - Lotto and News

Thank you to everyone who has signed up to do our weekly online fundraiser.  We have 20 regulars and this week we gained two more.  You can be proud to know that every time you play, you are helping to take care of the community spaces held in trust by Athenry Community Council Trust CLG.

However, the Coronavirus Pandemic has greatly hindered our ability to fundraise and conduct the weekly drawing of numbers in the usual manner, yet our costs continue daily.  We have one ask of you ahead of Halloween.  If each of you could ask one other person to play this week, we would be very grateful.  It might be fun for them to know they could win a Jackpot, win or share a Match 3 draw or even win a Lucky-dip.

We want to acknowledge our clients and community groups who have not been able to use the Community Hall during the restrictions in March and in the current restrictions.  We look forward to welcoming you back as soon as the restrictions are lifted.

We want to extend heartfelt thanks to Maria Langham, Athenry & Districts Community Employment Scheme Supervisor, and the CE Scheme participants for the great work and assistance they provide to Athenry Community Council.  They have assisted in many Community Council projects over the years like the preservation of the Community Playground, and most recently at the Raheen Sportsground, they built the dugouts and paved the drive into the car park among other works.

Along with the Town Park and the Community Hall, Athenry Community Council are the trustees for Raheen Sportsground, Knockaunglas, the Handball Alley (Target Fitness), and the 1916 Commemorative Garden at Swangate.

Thank you for your continued support over the years and don't hesitate to get in touch if you would like to join the Community Council and represent your area, or just help out in some way.

Le gach deá-ghuí
