Garrymore GAA Club are currently preparing
for a very exciting event next Friday evening, June 5th, 2009 which is
to mark the official opening of the new dressing-rooms. It has been
widely spoken about over the passed few weeks that Mayo senior
footballers are on their way for a challenge match to mark the event.
But now that has come to fruition as indeed most GAA enthusiast in
Mayo will have been delighted to have heard over the passed few days
that John O’Mahony’s Mayo will play a challenge match against Louth
this Friday evening in Garrymore with throw in expected to be at 8pm.
Louth, under the astute management of Eamonn McEneaney, will make the
trip to Garrymore and no doubt will give Mayo a right good game in the
process. Eamonn McEneaney played with Monaghan in 1980’s and was an
excellent footballer for the blue and white army. The contest is
expected to draw a very large crowd to Garrymore this Friday evening
as it is Mayo’s last match before the seniors tackle either Leitrim or
Roscommon in the Connacht semi-final in McHale Park on June 20th next.
GAA people from right across the county are very welcome to attend
this exciting adventure and no doubt will enjoy the evening.
