Tinryland G.F.C. club notes 24th August 2025
There was plenty of action on the underage front in the past week with both our U16 team and our minor team recording impressive wins over Mount Leinster Rangers and Michael Davitts respectively. Our U12 team played our neighbours Palatine in the Cental U12 festival of football at the Netwatch Centre of Excellence on Saturday last while our U14 team took on Michael Davitts in the Cental championship on Sunday winning on a scoreline of 2-12 to 0-7. The younger teams in the club namely the U8s and U10s travelled to the Ballyhogue tournament in Wexford on Saturday where both teams enjoyed the experience of playing against clubs from other counties. For the record the two U10 teams won 4 games each while at U8 level our 2 teams won 6 games between them. Well done to the mentors who organised and looked after the players on Saturday.
A table quiz in aid of the juvenile section of Tinryland G.F.C. will take place in the clubhouse on Friday 5th September at 8 p.m. Tables of 4 cost 40 euro and all parents of underage players are encouraged to take part.

Bennekerry/Tinryland senior ladies the current All Ireland and Leinster champions edged closer to another Carlow SFC final with a very impressive win over St. Brigids in Rathcrogue on Friday last. Unbeaten so far in the Carlow championship they will have further games against Eire Og and St. Annes in the coming weeks. Outstanding for the BT ladies on Friday were Elaine Ware, Aoibhin Webb, Ruth Bermingham, Fiona O’Sullivan-Doyle, Sinead Hayden, Cliodhna Ni She and Katie Bullen.
Congratulations to our senior footballers John Murphy and Conor Carew who were part of the Naomh Brid panel that lifted the J.J. Kavanagh and Sons Carlow Intermediate hurling championship on Saturday last. Best wishes to Conor Carew in his recovery from an injury that kept him out of the hurling final and is likely to force him to miss the upcoming football championship season.
Congratulations to Adam Murphy (Tinryland A.C) who smashed his personal best time for 200m in finishing 3rd at the Stratford sprint grand prix in London on Sunday last. The recent bronze medallist at the National senior championships clocked an impressive 21.31 to round off a brilliant season during which he won National and provincial honours at indoor and outdoor level.
The club lotto jackpot still stands at €10,000 and can be played online via the clubforce app or by purchasing a ticket from any committee member. Last weeks lucky dip winners were Ned and Claire Deane, Tom Delaney, Audrey Doyle and Emma Delaney.
