COME ON THE ROVERS!
Hopefully a huge crowd from the parish will make their way to Pairc Ui Chaoimh in Cork on Saturday afternoon next to support the Club's u14 hurlers who contest the County Final. The lads have won three good games to qualify for this Premier 2 Final against Blarney who are a very strong team. The Rovers side have given great displays over the last few years with mighty success. The task facing them on Saturday is a huge one but getting to the County Final is an achievement in itself. They have put in a mighty effort this year so let's have a huge green, white and gold clad crowd to support them at half past three.
SCRAP SATURDAY
We had designated Saturday as our Scrap metal Collection day but the County Final now has meant we may have to readjust our plans somewhat. We still want all the scrap metal we can get as part of our ongoing fundraising campaign for further Developments in Pairc na Bride. All types of metal from food cans to combine harvesters will be taken. If you can bring the scrap to the designated collection points all the better. If you need us to collect it we can arrange that also. For further information contact John Arnold 087 9538077, Tom Kearney 086 8453364, Seamus Buckley 086 9193186 or Billy Finnegan 086 8552537. If necessary we can arrange collection next week is that is more suitable.

SENIORS LOSE TO BARRS
At Connie Neenan Park, Togher on Saturday afternoon last we faced St. Finbarrs in our eight match of the 2014 Red FM senior Hurling League. We lost to the home side on a scoreline of 1 14 to 1 9. The result was disappointing but more so the fact that we lost a few players with recurrences of injuries. Our first round championship tie against Carrigtwohill is only ten days away so this is a very worrying situation to be in. Team v St. Finbarrs.

CORK V WATERFORD
Well it's Munster Hurling Championship time once more. For the first time in a decade we in Bride Rovers wont have a direct interest in the Cork Senior Hurling team with the retirement of Brian Murphy a few months back. We have great memories of the performances of Brian going back to 2003. Time marches on and so on Sunday next as we turn the cars out on the well worn path to Thurles we remember great games down the years and look forward to new contests. Waterford are plagued with injuries but should not be underestimated. Here's hoping for a fantastic day in the town where hurling fills the very air and the craic is always mighty.
