Senior Football

Our senior footballers played their second game of the championship campaign last weekend losing to Clashmore on a score line of 1:08 to 2:09. Clashmore seemed to be much faster out of the blocks and took their scoring opportunities. Paul Whyte hit the post in the first minute and if this had went in it could have been a different game, by half time they were leading by 2:05 to 0:03 with Joey Veale scoring our three points. From then on it was going to be an uphill battle for the lads but they never gave up in the second half showing a great fighting spirit with further points from Joey Veale (4) and David Power (1) and a great strike from Paul Whyte that rattled the net and get back to just two points behind with five minutes left on the clock. Clashmore added two late points to come out winners by four points. The championship takes a break for a couple of weeks so it will give the lads plenty of time to refocus and get back on track. Team: Darren Mulhearne, Paul Hayes, Stephen Prendergast, Barry Prendergast, James Whyte, Michael Kirwan, Kevin Delahunty, Brendan McGarr, Tommy Prendergast, Michael Walsh, Eoin Cummins, Niall Walsh, Joey Veale, Paul Whyte, David Power.

Juvenile Notes

Under 14 Football

Our Under 14 footballers are due to play their county final this Saturday morning in the Fraher field at 10:30. They are due to play the winners of the eastern final between St.Marys and St.Mollerans. The lads had a useful workout last Saturday when they travelled to Kilsheelan to play them in a challenge game. They were a strong and talented football team and we were short a few of our regulars losing out on a score of 3:07 to 5:09. Our lads have put in a great effort all throughout the year in all their games and especially in training so come along and support the footballers of the future on Saturday morning.

Our Under 14 hurlers travelled to Clashmore to play the home team in the Div3 semi-final on Sunday morning last. We were short a lot on the day and were defeated. A great effort was put in by the lads and mentors. Training will start next week with time and date to be confirmed.
