Bereavements

We extend sympathy to Seán and Chris Foley on the recent death of their mother Mrs. Kathleen Foley of Drangan village. In her young days Kathleen was one of the best badminton players in Co. Tipperary, winning competitions at County, Provincial and National level with the Drangan club which was then in its infancy. This was in the days before the arrival of electricity in Drangan when badminton was played with light from oil lamps. For many years Kathleen ran a very successful grocery business in Drangan village. Her late husband Jim was a prominent member of St. Patricks football teams, a tradition continued by their sons Seán and Chris. Chris of course was a prominent member of several successful St. Patricks teams and wore the blue and gold of Tipperary as well as winning a Senior Colleges Hurling All Ireland final with St. Kierans College Kilkenny.  Kathleens grandchildren Cathal, Clodagh and Donncha are all prominent members of St. Patricks underage teams. May the soul of Kathleen Foley rest in peace.

We also extend sympathy to Pat White of Tullowcussaune on the recent death of his sister Nellie Cahill of Mullinahone. For many years Nellie and her husband Michael ran a very successful Bar and Lounge business in Mullinahone. May the soul of Nellie rest in peace.
