Last week was a busy one for some of hurlers with both U19's and Junior A Hurlers in action with some players playing 3 games in 5 days due to poor fixture making by the South Board.
First up was our U19's who played Grangmockler last Wednesday in Mullinahone. Both teams were already through to the Semi Finals and were missing some players for this match. Grangemockler won in the end by 6 points which meant our lads would play Fethard in the Semi Final.
The Semi Final took place last Sunday evening in Monroe. While we started strong and were up by 4 points at the 1st water break, Fethard went ahead in the 2nd quarter and held the lead right up to the final whistle. This ended our involvement in the U19 Hurling for the year and attention now turns to the U19 Football which begins this Wednesday. Our Junior A Hurlers were in action last Saturday evening where Newcastle were our opponents. Just like our previous game against Cahir we just couldnt convert chances into scores and as a result ended up drawing once again on a scoreline of 2-13 to 1-16. We go into our final game against Clonmel Óg needing a win to have a chance of qualifying for the knockout stage.
