North Leinster title for St. Joseph's CBS

Congratulations to St. Joseph's CBS on their North Leinster win. It's great to see local teams progressing in Leinster and the fact that it is well represented by the club with 8 of the starting line up and 2 substitutes also having them wear the Blues jersey is an added bonus along with manager Brian McCole. Well done lads.

St Joseph's CBS Drogheda secured the North Leinster Juvenile B Football title with a final day win over Scol Dara Kilcock on the astro turf pitch at Dunganny.

Scol Dara got the perfect start when Luke Sheridan got in for a goal after two minutes. The Drogheda school struggled to get into the game in the early stages but a brace of points from Ross Nally and Ciaran Downey settled them into the game.Nally was giving the Scol Dara defence all sorts of problems. The corner foward registered another 1-2 before been forced to retire with an injury. Joe's midfielder Paul Matthews kicked two great points and the Drogheda school went in at the break leading 1-7 to 1-1.

Scores were at a premium in the second half. Scol Dara dominated the possession stakes but failed to convert their chances. Ciaran Downey stretched the St Joseph's lead with the opening point. With ten minutes remaining Danny Ross Heneghan threw Scol Dara a life line when he finished to the St Joseph's net. Downey responded with a pointed free for St Joseph's before substitute Cian Slattery closed out the scoring.

After the game Tom O'Donnell presented the North Leinster Juvenile C Shield to Scol Dara captain Ciaran Downey.
