COVID Protocols

With COVID prevalent in our society it is IMPERATIVE that you reinforce the COVID protocols to ALL your players and volunteers around the game that we have in place to keep us as safe as possible, prevent the spread and help to ensure we can keep basketball going through this peak.

Whilst we are still awaiting updates from Basketball England we will maintain our own protocols that were extra to what had been asked by Basketball England previously.

LFTs - ALL players, and officials involved in games to maintain their LFT tests on game day, obviously if positive NOT to attend the game and to arrange a PCR. Players and coaches to complete LFTs on training days also.

Do NOT attend games or training if you are feeling unwell, have a temperature or new and prolific cough, basically do NOT attend if you feel you could have COVID however mild - the implications of you spreading it to the rest of your team, opponents, officials is not worth it.

Obviously follow all Government guidelines regarding isolation, having said that (and I know several who have not attended games in this situation), where the Government advice states you do not have to isolate if you are 'double jabbed' be aware that you can still catch, carry and transmit COVID if you are double-jabbed and once again we would ask that you do NOT attend games or training as that is fair for all and our sport.

At the game, we will still be utilising the 'two ball' system with cleaning in between, hand sanitiser to be available and utilised by players and officials regularly, subs do NOT have to sit next to the table but can come straight from the bench area (after informing table of substitution and being asked on by the officials).

Face Coverings to be worn by ALL who are NOT physically playing on the court, that means coaches and players on the benches to wear face coverings, plus table officials. Face Coverings to be worn by all away from game area and in public corridors.

We need to get more subscribers to our channel (this will help us monetarise the channel, get income for free into our local basketball), it does not cost anything to register / subscribe to the channel, just a little bit of time, please ask your family, friends and fellow basketball players to subscribe (we are here to grow basketball together):

We are edging towards the end of our league season, we are 2/3's through (week 15 approaching fast), and want to have our big Cup Finals, Play Off Finals and All-Star games for our 60th Season. It has been a hard graft and we are thankful to all involved, now let's be professional and finish it all off in style.

About the All-Star games, the coaches concerned will start contacting players soon, this is an 'inclusive' couple of exhibition games and as such has specified criteria as follows:

The criteria for selection in each team is as follows:

Men’s game made up of 5 Division I players, 4 Division II players, 3 Division III players.

Only allowed one player per team and would be based on the players ‘normal’ team where players play for two teams in one club.

Ladies would obviously be all from one Division and no more than two per team!

No player can feature in All quarters, and every player MUST feature in 3 quarters unless injured. Extra table official / Commissioner to monitor this. (10-point deduction for each breach).

Otherwise, normal rules exist.
