Tinryland GFC club Notes 17th May 2026

There were contrasting results for our U18 minors and our 2nd adult team in the past week. On Thursday last Tinryland U18’s won the Division 2 Spring league final by eight points against a young Rathvilly outfit at the Training centre. Tinryland had outstanding players in Luke Cahill, Daniel Byrne, Callum O’Brien-Murphy, Liam Ryan, Dan Kehoe, MacDara Deane and Mikey Byrne.

On Saturday last our 2nd adult team lost out to neighbours Palatine in the Carlow Credit Union division 3 relegation decider at the training Centre. This team will now compete in division 4 next season and can look forward with optimism to the upcoming Carlow JFC (B).

On Saturday Tinryland had prominent players in goalkeeper Evan Doyle, Cian and Conall McGuire, Sean and Thomas Murphy, Adam Fennelly, Shay McCullough and sub-Charlie Keogh.

At juvenile level Tinryland defeated Grange at U12 level while our U14s had  good victories over O’Hanrahans and Eire Og in the past week.

There is one underage game scheduled for the coming week when our U16 team play Clonmore at home on this Tuesday 19th May at 7 p.m.

Well done to the Carlow ladies team and the Bennekerry/Tinryland members that captured the Leinster JFC title in St. Conleths Park Newbridge on Saturday against Longford.

Ruth Bermingham, Aoibhin Webb and sub-Sarah Nolan featured in this win. Cliodhna Ni Se (injured), Shannen Cotter, Maeve O’Neill, Grace Lawler and Clodagh Mahon were also part of the Carlow panel who can now look forward to a decent run in the upcoming All Ireland series.

The club lotto jackpot of €10,000 is still outstanding and can be played online via the club force app or by purchasing a ticket for the Monday evening draw from any committee member. Last weeks lucky dip winners were Michael Kehoe Jnr, Jim Curran, Tracey Doyle and Aoife Farrell
