Tinryland GFC club notes 5th April 2026

On the playing front the past week was a mixed one for Tinryland teams. On Tuesday last our U18 team registered their 2nd consecutive victory in the spring league with a 2-10 to 2-6 win over Clonmore. The minors will be back in action on this coming Thursday 9th April away to Rathvilly in Fr Ryan Park at 7.30 p.m.

At adult level Tinryland’s 3 squads are still awaiting a win in the Carlow Credit Union leagues following last week’s matches. Our division 5 team travelled to O’Hanrahans on Wednesday last to take on the home side, but the match was abandoned after only 20 minutes due to a power failure. This game has been re-fixed for this coming Wednesday 8th April at 8 p.m.

Our no 1 team competing in division 1 lost out to Clonmore on Good Friday and is still awaiting a first win in this year’s league. They will be back in action on this coming Thursday 9th April with a home fixture against unbeaten Palatine in a game that will double as the Andy Murphy shield final in aid of Carlow Hospice.

Our 2nd fifteen competing in division 3 lost out by 6 points to Asca after an entertaining game on Saturday played in very windy conditions. The team will be at home to Eire Og in their next game on Saturday next 11th April.

At underage level Tinryland’s U12 team will play Eire Og on Monday 13th April in Rathcrogue at 6.30 p.m.
