Tinryland GFC club notes 15th September 2025
A tough week on the playing front ended with more disappointment at Netwatch Cullen park on Sunday last when our senior team was comprehensively beaten by our neighbours Palatine in round 2 of the Michael Lyng Motors Hyundai Carlow S.F.C. The senior team will be back in action on this coming Sunday 21st September at 4.45 p.m. when a victory over Bagenalstown Gaels is essential if Tinryland is to progress in the championship and avoid a relegation battle. Our 2nd fifteen travelled to Clonmore on Saturday in round 2 of the Talbot Hotel J.F.C. (B). Despite enjoying the lions share of the play and creating numerous goal chances Tinryland lost out by 4 points to Clonmore. The team will be back in action this coming Friday at home to Eire Og in round 3. Our 3rd 15 were well beaten in their game away to Mount Leinster Rangers on Tuesday last and will be unable to fulfil the fixture against Ballon on this coming Tuesday due to the litany of injuries affecting our players at present.
At underage level our U12 team took part in the Talbot Hotel Rathvilly U12 tournament on Saturday last where they reached the shield final against a strong Edenderry team. Well done to both players and management on a great year.
Tinryland U16 team will be at home to Palatine on this coming Tuesday 16th September at 7 p.m. while our minor team will be away to Bagenalstown Gaels in Mcgrath Park on this coming Thursday 18th September at 7 p.m.
The club lotto jackpot still stands at €10,000 and can be played online via the clubforce app or by purchasing a ticket for the Monday evening draw from any committee member. Last weeks lucky dip winners were: David O’Neill, Conor Byrne, Eamonn Byrne and Michael Nolan.
