Tinryland G.F.C. Club Notes April 21st 2024
Our senior team lost out by 3 points to a fast- moving Clonmore side in round 6 of the S.F.L. division 1 at Rathcrogue on Friday last. The concession of 3 goals from defensive lapses and wayward shooting were major factors in this result. The seniors will be back in action on Friday 3rd May in round 7 away to Bagenalstown Gaels with their final league game at home to Palatine in the postponed round 5 fixture which will double as the Andy Murphy shield final in aid of Carlow Hospice.
Our U16 team began their Spring league campaign away to Clonmore on Thursday last and came away with the points on a scoreline of 2-18 to 4-9. The U16 team will next be in action away to St. Martins on Thursday 2nd May. Our U12 team will be in action away to Naomh Eoin in Myshall on Saturday next 27th April at 2 p.m. Training sessions for our Little Hoops, U8 and U10 players will continue this Wednesday evening 24th April between 6.30 p.m. and 7.30 p.m.
Preparations are continuing for this year’s Feile competition for our U15 players. A fundraising quiz will take place in the clubhouse on Friday next 26th April at 8 p.m. All support will be appreciated from parents and supporters and the cost per table of 4 will be €40. On the same evening the Feile squad will be presented with their kit.
Preparations are also continuing for the 96-team underage South East tournament for U12, U14 and U16 that takes place over 3 weekends in Tinryland G.F.C. in late June and early July. For further details contact Peter Scully at 087 6992067.
The club lotto jackpot currently stands at €6800 and can be played online via the clubforce app or by purchasing a ticket from any committee member for the Monday evening draw.
