                       Tinryland G.F.C. Club Notes

It was another busy week on and off the field of play. Our Junior (A) team wound up their division 3 campaign with a hard- earned win away to Old Leighlin on Wednesday last. Three wins out of seven in this division just saw the team fail to make the semi-finals but the team will now take part in the Div. 3 shield competition which is a welcome addition to the programme. Our two representatives on the Carlow Senior football team Jonah Dunne and Paddy Regan had mixed luck in the past week. Jonah scored the winning point in Carlow’s Tailteann cup win over Wicklow. He was in action again in last Saturday’s match at home to Limerick which Carlow lost. The club wishes the two lads and the Carlow team the best of luck in their final group game away to Longford on Saturday 3rd June.

At juvenile level there were mixed results with the U15 team defeating Asca while the U17 team lost out to Clonmore in the Cental Spring league. The 2nd U15 team also lost to Railyard on Tuesday last.

In the coming week our U17 team will be at home to Fenagh on Tomorrow Monday at 7 pm in the Cental Spring league. Our two U11 squads will be at home to Palatine on next Saturday afternoon 27th May.

Congratulations to our latest lotto jackpot winner Clare Ramsbottom who was the lucky winner of €6000 in last Monday’s draw. The lotto jackpot reverts to €2000 for tomorrow’s draw.

Good progress is reported in ticket sales for the up- coming club development draw in conjunction with Carlow Co. board. 12 teams of sellers are making a big effort to make this project a success and are targeting a major effort within the Tinryland community.

A full committee meeting will be held on this Tuesday evening 23rd May at 8.30 p.m.
