Tinryland G.F.C. club notes July 3rd 2022
Plans are at an advanced stage for the major underage football tournament on Saturday next 9th and Sunday next 10th July at the club grounds in Rathcrogue. Club teams from eight counties will take part in the Boys and Girls U12 tournament with the girl’s competition for the Cora Townsend cup taking place on the Saturday commencing at 10 a.m. and the boy’s event in memory of club founder member Ned Hayden taking place on the Sunday commencing at 11 a.m. All help from committee members and parents over the weekend will be greatly appreciated.
It was another quiet week on the playing front with 2 underage teams in action. The u17 team defeated Clonmore by one point while the U13 team won away to O’Hanrahans on Sunday last.
The fixture list for the Carlow football championship was published on Friday last. In the Michael Lyng Motors S.F.C. Tinryland will play Ballinabranna on week ending 21st August followed by games with Eire Og on week ending 28th August and against Bagenalstown Gaels on week ending 11th September. In the Talbot Hotel J.F.C. (A) Tinryland will play Fighting Cocks on week ending 21st August followed by games against Clonmore on week ending 28th August and against Leighlinbridge on week ending 9th September.
In the Talbot Hotel J.F.C. (C) Tinryland play Eire Og on w/e 19th August followed by games with O’Hanrahans on w/e 26th August and Ballon on w/e 9th September.
Best wishes to the Bennekerry/Tinryland ladies who are part of the Carlow panel that will play Antrim on Sunday next in the All Ireland Junior semi-final. They are Ruth Bermingham (Captain), Nuala Mohan, Elaine ware, Niamh Kelly, Sinead Hayden, Shannen Cotter, Roisin Byrne, Liz Lowry and Sinead Thompson.
The club lotto jackpot currently stands at €3400 and can be played via the Tinryland G.F.C. club force app or by purchasing a ticket from any committee member.
