The annual Tinryland G.F.C. golf classic will take place this coming weekend on Friday 17th and Saturday 18th June at Gowran park golf club. This event is one of the main fundraisers for our club and places are still available for €200 per team of four. Supporters can also sponsor a tee box for €100.

It was a quiet week on the playing front with only one juvenile team in action. On Sunday last the U13 team defeated Fenagh in a high scoring game by 7-12 to 4-2.

There are two juvenile games down for decision in the coming week. On Saturday next the U11 team play Grange at home with a 2 p.m. throw in. On Monday next 20th June our U17 team play the same opposition also at home at 7 p.m.

The master fixtures for the Carlow Senior football championship have recently been released.

Tinryland will begin the campaign on 20th August when they take on Ballinabranna. Bagenalstown Gaels and Eire Og are also in Tinryland’s group in the S.F.C.

Bennekerry-Tinryland was well represented on the Carlow ladies panel that defeated Derry in the All Ireland ladies J.F.C. in Celtic park Derry on Sunday last. The BT members on the panel were Ruth Bermingham (Captain), Nuala Mohan, Elaine Ware, Sinead Hayden, Niamh Kelly, Roisin Byrne, Elizabeth Lowry and Sinead Thompson. Carlow are now unbeaten in the championship and will play London next to secure a place in the All Ireland semi-final.
