Club notes

             Tinryland G.F.C. club Notes 5th June 2022

Last Saturdays Summer Picnic held in our club was a very successful event. The day began at 2 p.m. with an outdoor market attended by arts and crafts and food vendors and also included many attractions for children. The day ended with a superb concert headlined by one of Europes top Queen tribute bands QWEEN fronted by Kildare man Brian Keville. Over 2 hours of the energy laden live set Qween performed all of Freddie Mercury and Queens greatest hits including Bohemian Rhapsody, Radio Ga Ga, Killer Queen and Somebody to Love. All in attendance were in agreement that the event was hugely enjoyable, and many are already looking forward to the next Summer Picnic concert on Saturday 25th June when top Abba tribute band 21st Century Abba will take to the stage in Rathcrogue.

It was a quiet week on the field of play with both our U13 and U15 teams losing out to Michael Davitts.

The club extends sympathy to the Broderick family on the recent passing of Noel Broderick whose funeral took place last Thursday. Noel was the father of former Tinryland players John and Joe and grandfather to current player Paul.

An important meeting of all committee members and coaches has been arranged for this coming Thursday evening 9th June at 8 p.m. A full attendance is requested.
