Club notes

            Tinryland G.F.C. Notes 22nd May 2022

The past week was a very busy one on and off the field of play. On Friday evening last the senior team qualified for the knockout stages of the S.F.L. Division 1 with a 6-point victory away to St. Patricks at Bro Leo Park. Outstanding for Tinryland in this game were Shane Redmond, Niall Lowry, John Murphy, Conor Brennan, Conor Ryan, Paddy Regan and Conor O’Toole. Tinryland will now face Eire Og in the division 1 semi-final on this coming Friday 27th May at 7 p.m. in Netwatch Cullen Park.

Our Junior (A) team lost to Ballon in the S.F.L. Div. 3

At Juvenile level The U15 team had a good victory away to Fenagh in J. J. Hogan Park on Thursday last. 2 first half goals from Mikey Byrne and Lorcan O’Connor laid the base for this win, and they ran out winners on a scoreline of 2-13 to 1-9.  At U11 level the young hoops lost out Kildavin-Clonegal while our u13 team defeated Grange in the Cental football division 2. with good performances from Noah Dowling, Tadgh Deane, Robbie Kelliher, Dan Kehoe, Rian Nolan and Ollie Walsh.

The club held a well-attended “Thank You” night for sponsors and supporters on Friday last. Club chairman Bernard Mullen welcomed all to the event and thanked the various local businesses that helped to keep Tinryland G.F.C. afloat in recent times.  At this function recent lotto jackpot winner John Kenneally was presented with his winnings of €10,900. John who is now based in Rathfarnham in Dublin is a former player with our club.

Tinryland G.F.C. will hold the annual golf classic at Gowran park on Friday 17th and Saturday 18th June. In recent years this event has been well supported by club members and supporters. Plans are at an advanced stage for the 1st of 3 Summer Picnic and family fun day events to be held in the club on Saturday 4th June. The highlight of the day will be an outdoor concert headlined by top European Queen tribute band QWEEN. Tickets for the fun day cost €5 while all day access including the concert cost €35.
