Kildavin-Clonegal 0-10 Tinryland 1-6
Kildavin-Clonegal edged Tinryland out of the Carlow S.F.L. with a last gasp victory point deep in injury time at Netwatch Cullen Park on Monday 5th July. Tinryland led this game from the 4th minute when Ronan Curran scored the only goal of the game after Kildavins wing back Niall Hickey had given the Wexford border side the lead in the 3rd minute.
Diarmaid Walshe increased the Tinryland lead in the 6th minute after interacting with Conor O’Toole and Conor Byrne but this score was cancelled out a minute later by a Joe Roberts point for the eventual winners. Danny Moran then increased the Tinryland lead when he combined with Conor Ryan and Conor O’Toole and the same player despite taking a nasty blow slotted over another point on the stroke of the water break following good play by Ronan Curran and Keelin Gaffney.
When play resumed Danny Moran who was suffering with concussion was replaced by Rory Doyle.
Daryl Roberts reduced the margin to 3 points once again before Keelin Gaffney stretched the Tinryland lead to 4 points once again. A scorless 10 minutes then followed before Joe Roberts reduced the margin to a single goal before referee John Hickey blew the Half time whistle.

Tinryland made their second substitution at half time with Co. player Shane Redmond replacing Mark Lawlor and it took only 15 seconds for Ronan Curran to slot over a point to leave Tinryland 4 points clear.
In the 36th minute Kildavin-Clonegal wing back Niall Hickey was allowed to cut through the entire defence to score the point of the match. Diarmaid Walshe who was struggling with frees up to then finally landed one after a foul on Shane Redmond but once again Kildavin would not lie down and wing forward Joe Roberts kept then in contact with a well taken point in the 42nd minute. Another point from Daryl Roberts reduced the margin to 2 points with 9 minutes remaining as Kildavin -Clonegal sensed victory and Tinryland brought on Paul Broderick for Keelin Gaffney. With 6 minutes remaining the minimum separated the sides following another Daryl Roberts conversion and the same player levelled matters with another point 2 minutes into stoppage time. Kildavin Clonegal tails were now up. Tinryland supporters sensed the worst now and the winner for KC arrived via that man Daryl Roberts from a mark 5 minutes into stoppage time and seconds before the referee sounded the long whistle. Tinryland must re-group now from this set back and prepare for the upcoming championship which does not start until late September. Tinryland kicked a total of 10 wides in this game.
