Club notes 21/07/2025

Senior Men’s Quiz Night – A Great Success!

A huge thank you to everyone who attended and supported last night’s quiz in aid of our Senior Men’s team. The event was a fantastic success, with a great turnout and brilliant atmosphere throughout the evening.

Special thanks to Paul Devine, Eoghan Hogan, Tom Dorr, Adam Carroll, and everyone else who contributed their time and effort in organising the night. Your hard work truly paid off!

Well done to all the quiz teams, and congratulations to the winners!!

St. Loman’s Mothers & Others

Another enjoyable outing for our Mothers & Others team on Wednesday evening, with a strong performance against a competitive Downs side. The girls showed great spirit and teamwork throughout.

A big thank you to senior ladies player Keelie for her excellent coaching on the evening, and to Annie for taking charge as referee. Your support is always appreciated!

U14 Championship Action

All three of our U14 teams were in championship action this evening, showcasing the great depth and spirit within the group.

Our Division 3 and Division 5 teams both played at home, taking on Delvin and Milltownpass, respectively. Thanks to everyone who helped facilitate the simultaneous running of both games—it was a great display of club cooperation. Both teams competed strongly, with a well-earned win secured against Delvin.

Meanwhile, our Division 1 team travelled to Athlone and came away with an impressive win over a strong home side.

The most pleasing aspect of the evening? A brilliant 52 boys lined out and represented the club in championship football. Great work all round!

Condolences:

St Loman’s Mullingar would like to extend our sympathies to the family of the late JJ Flynn RIP. Originally from Clonguish in Longford, he was part of the noted Flynn footballing family and after joining the nursing staff of St Loman’s Hospital became a stalwart of the senior team that won the Westmeath Senior Football Championship in 1961 & 1963.

A noted footballer, he later became Chairman of the club and also acted as senior team selector.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this sad time.
