St. Loman’s Mullingar – League Review 2025

As the league season moves into its final stretch, St. Loman’s Mullingar can reflect on a campaign full of effort, growth, and promising performances across all adult teams. With a strong mix of youth and experience throughout the squads, the club continues to push forward on all fronts.

Division 1 – Senior Team

Our Division 1 side has been consistently competitive throughout the league, producing a number of impressive performances against strong opposition. The team has played with pace and purpose, and while results have been mixed, there’s been no shortage of quality on show. Shane Dempsey has been in outstanding form and is undoubtedly the standout player of the season so far, consistently contributing on the scoreboard and leading the line with composure and accuracy. With a few rounds remaining, the focus now is on building momentum heading into the championship.

Division 2 - Junior A Team

Promoted after a strong campaign last year, our Division 2 side has shown great determination in every outing this season. The team continues to develop with each game, delivering some excellent performances along the way. Recent results have improved their league standing, and the focus now is on finishing the season strongly and building on the progress made to date.

Division 4 – Junior B Team

Our Division 4 team has put in a strong effort throughout the season, with several close and competitive games reflecting the commitment within the group. The team continues to play an important role in the club, providing valuable game time for developing players and ensuring strong squad depth. The spirit and determination shown each week have been a real positive for the club.

Ladies & Underage

Across the board, our ladies’ and underage teams continue to flourish. League campaigns at both juvenile and adult level have shown the strength of the club's development pathway. A particular highlight was the U15 boys’ Féile success, which reflects the strong work being done at underage level by players, coaches, and families alike.

Hard Luck to Our U16 Girls

Disappointment for our U16 girls who lost out to Garrycastle in the Division 1 League Final.

Despite the result, the girls showed great determination and spirit throughout the campaign and should be very proud of their efforts.

Heads up – plenty more big days ahead for this talented group.

All-Ireland U20 Football Championship B – Champions!

Massive congratulations to Kenny McKinley’s Westmeath U20 team on being crowned All-Ireland champions after a dramatic final win over Monaghan, securing victory 3-1 on penalties after extra time.

A truly unforgettable performance from a determined and talented group. A special shoutout to our own club players – Seanai Bracken, Daniel McCann, and Mikey Weir.

What a moment for Westmeath football – well done to all involved!

Street League Success & Finals Night Approaching

The 2024 St. Loman’s Street League has proven to be a brilliant success so far, with great numbers and incredible energy on display each Wednesday evening at Lakepoint Park.

Over the past few weeks, young players from across the club have shown fantastic skill, teamwork, and enthusiasm, creating a vibrant atmosphere and making each game day one to remember. The support from parents, mentors, and volunteers has also played a huge role in making this year’s league such a standout success.

All eyes now turn to the Street League Finals Night on Wednesday, 28th May, where we look forward to an evening of exciting matches, celebration, and community pride.

Well done to all involved – we can't wait for a great finale!

Celebrating a True Club Legend

This week, we were proud to mark a momentous occasion in the history of our club as we celebrate the 100th birthday of St Loman’s legend, John Kenny.

John lined out at corner back in our club’s first-ever senior championship victory in 1948, a hard-fought win over Athlone in challenging conditions. That historic triumph laid the foundation for everything that followed and remains a proud milestone in our journey.
