Ladies League Division 1:
St Lomans Mullingar 7-10 Mullingar Shamrocks 1-09
Last Sunday morning saw our senior ladies register a second consecutive victory as they hosted Mullingar Shamrocks in Dovida Lakepoint Park. The sides were evenly matched in the first quarter with both teams hitting four points each. Paige Matthews, Shauna Traynor, Evie Kilmurray and Julie McLaughlin were all on target for the hosts. The beginning of the second quarter saw Aileen Martin put the saints in front before Evie Kilmurray doubled her side’s advantage, as well as her personal tally. Kate McDonnell’s long range effort on the stroke of half time gave the blues a five point cushion at the interval.
The visitors began the second half well and managed to narrow the gap to the minimum. Katie Kilmurray and Shannon Breslin were then introduced, just a day after their Leinster triumph. Within a minute both scored goals in astonishing fashion, both scoring with their first touch in superb style. Shamrocks briefly replied with a two point return but the last quarter was an absolute onslaught from the home side.
Pointed efforts from Grainne Cleary, Breslin and Kilmurray widened the gap before an avalanche of late goals. Grainne Cleary and Julie McLaughlin netted, as well as two more finishes by Kilmurray to complete a fantastic hat-trick. Evie Kilmurray had the last word, pointing after two Shamrocks’ scores to rubber stamp a facile victory for Ciaran Kilmurray’s side.
Excellent performances were on show throughout, particularly from Eve Scally, Eimear Doonan, Julie McLaughlin, Ellen Kilmurray and the evergreen Aileen Martin. Special mentions must also go to our county minor stars Katie Kilmurray, Shannon Breslin and Kate McDonnell.

Congratulations to the Westmeath Minor Ladies on winning the Leinster Final. A special mention to our three St Loman’s players — Katie Kilmurray, Shannon Breslin, and Kate McDonnell — who played a big part in the win. A brilliant achievement for the girls and for the club!
Well done to our Girls Féile team, who qualified for the Westmeath Division 1 Final. The girls started the day with a strong win over Mullingar Shamrocks, before a narrow defeat to Garrycastle. Thanks to the earlier result, St Loman’s advanced to the semi-final, where they produced their best football, holding Athlone scoreless in a dominant performance. Unfortunately, the girls were beaten by Garrycastle again in the final. However, they can be extremely proud of their efforts, showing brilliant skill, determination, and team spirit throughout the day.
