     Tinryland G.F.C. Club Notes 27th April 2025

Tinryland senior footballers are on the verge of making the knockout stages of the Carlow Credit Union S.F.L. Division 1 after their 4th consecutive win away to Clonmore on Easter Monday.

The senior team will host Eire Og on this coming Friday 2nd May at 7.30 p.m. in round 6 with their final game away to St. Patricks on the following week.

Our junior team are struggling for numbers at the moment and were well beaten by a strong Ballon squad in Rathcrogue on Tuesday last in the S.F.L. Division 3. Tinryland who are a junior B championship team in 2025 have had to play a senior championship team (Mount Leinster Rangers) and an Intermediate championship club (Ballon) in this year’s league. The junior team will be back in action away to Asca on Saturday next in Presentation College at 6 p.m.

Our 3rd team who are in Division 5 were forced to concede a walk over to Mount Leinster Rangers on Wednesday last and are due to host Grange on this coming Wednesday 30th April at 8 p.m.

At underage level there was only one team from the club in action in the past week when the U12s beat Grange on Saturday last.

There was a great response to the jersey sale held in our club on Friday last in aid of our Little Hoops academy. A limited number of jerseys are still available from Peter Scully or Bernard Mullen. Tinryland sponsor Electric Avenue who are based in the parish at Ballinacarrig recently presented new home and away jerseys to all Tinryland G.F.C. teams.

The very first Tinryland Village half marathon will take place on Saturday next 3rd May at 11 a.m. All 300 places for the 3- lap event over the Tinryland, Ballybar and Ballyloo course have been sold out. Roads in the area will be closed from 10 a.m. on Saturday until 2 p.m. Gregg Murphy who is a member of Tinryland G.F.C. is the race director for the event. Dressing facilities will be provided in our club.

The club lotto jackpot currently stands at €10,000 and can be played online via the club force app or by purchasing a ticket from any committee member. Last weeks lucky dip winners were: Tara Phelan, Michael Kehoe, Liam Lawlor and Jamie Kelly.
