For the first time in four years the club fielded three adult teams in the past week with varying levels of success. Tinryland’s 2nd junior team hosted a strong Asca squad in division 5 on Wednesday last and despite losing on a scoreline of 3-15 to 1-5 there were positives to take out of the game with a number of retired players making a welcome return to action. This team will be back in action at home to Fighting Cocks on this Wednesday evening 26th March at 7.30 p.m.

On Friday last Tinryland seniors hosted Bagenalstown Gaels in the S.F.L. division 1 and after a competitive game they won the league points on a score of 2-10 to 1-8. The seniors will be back in action on Friday next 28th March away to our neighbours Palatine in Bennekerry at 8 p.m.

3 Tinryland players Mark Mullen, John Murphy and Paddy Regan lined out for Carlow in their Allianz NFL division 4 game away to London on Sunday last. A number of supporters from Tinryland travelled to London for the game and despite travel difficulties due to the emergency at Heathrow Airport they made it in time for the game which Carlow won on a score of 1-18 to 1-17.

Tinryland junior (A) team was involved in a high scoring game in the S.F.L. division 3 at home to O’Hanrahans on Saturday last. In a game played in difficult weather conditions O’Hanrahans with wind advantage led at half time by 4-4 to 1-4. In the 2nd half it was Tinryland that dominated holding their opponents scoreless until the last kick of the game when O’Hanrahans levelled matters for a share of the spoils. Outstanding for Tinryland in this match were:  Peter Hennessy, Sean Murphy, John Dempsey, Matthew Gleeson, Paddy Walshe, Glenn Doyle, Conall O’Shea and Adam Mullen.

Plans will be finalised in the coming week for the South East sevens tournament which is due to take place in late June and early July. Last years event attracted over 90 clubs to Tinryland and it is planned to hold a senior category this year which will see the event taking place over 4 weekends.

Little Hoops training for U6s will now commence on Wednesday 3rd April at 6.30 p.m.

The club lotto jackpot still stands at €10000 and can be played online via the clubforce app or by purchasing a ticket from any committee member. Last weeks lucky dip winners were: Ciara Brady, Liz Power, Eamonn Byrne and Liam Fitzpatrick.
