New York trip Easter 2025
At a well -attended meeting on Tuesday 20th August further progress was made re above trip.
It was decided that a deposit of €300 (Non- refundable) will be required by Tuesday 3rd September when the next meeting takes place at 9 p.m.
Those intending to travel should furnish a copy of their passport when paying the deposit so that the name on passport corresponds with the name when the group booking is being completed. When travelling in April one of the main requirements is that a passport must be valid for at least six months after entry to the USA eg end October 2025. The required ESTA VISA form for each traveller can be completed in the club sometime during March 2025.
To date over 60 members and supporters including 30 players have indicated a willingness to travel. The trip takes place from Wednesday 16th April 2025 until Sunday 20th April (Easter Sunday). 12 players from Bennekerry/Tinryland ladies club have also expressed an interest in travelling.
It is planned to have a reception in the BOI conference centre in Manhattan on Thursday evening 17th April with 2 games against Shannon Gaels and Brooklyn Shamrocks pencilled in for Saturday 19th April 2025.
It is planned to hold a few fundraisers in the club over the next number of months to help with the cost of hiring transport on both sides of the Atlantic.
