 Tinryland G.F.C. Club Notes July 21st 2024

There was a very positive response at the first meeting on Friday last to discuss the proposed trip to New York during Easter 2025. A follow up meeting will take place on Tuesday 30th July at 9.30 p.m.

Our underage teams had no luck in their games in the past week. At under 16 level Tinryland lost out to Eire Og on a scoreline of 1-15 to 1-5. In the minor U18 championship Tinryland lost out to Kildavin Clonegal on a scoreline of 1-14 to 1-8.

In the coming week our U16 team will be at home to Castledermot at 7 p.m. on Thursday next 25th July while both of our U12 squads will be at home to St. Martins on next Saturday afternoon 27th July commencing at 2 p.m.

One of our club’s main fundraisers is the club development draw in conjunction with Carlow Co. GAA board. The tickets for this year’s draws which take place during August, September, October and November will be distributed on this coming Monday and Tuesday in the clubhouse. All members and supporters are asked to sell a minimum of two tickets each so that our target is met.

A major photographic exhibition will be held in Tinryland Parish Hall on the weekend of 23rd to 25th August capturing Tinryland’s rich history, heritage and community past and present. This event is being held in conjunction with National Heritage week and Tinryland G.F. C. will feature prominently in the exhibition. The organising committee will be delighted to borrow photographs or memorabilia for the event which will be launched in the Parish Hall at 7.30 p.m. on Friday 23rd August. Further details from Liam Furlong at 086 0719283

Our club lotto jackpot currently stands at €8100 and can be played online via the club force app or by purchasing a ticket from any committee member. Last weeks lucky dip winners were:  Jack Lowry, Brid Delaney, Eoin Fields and Eabha Fields.
