Tinryland G.F.C. club Notes 25th February 2024
Our senior team were well beaten by Old Leighlin on Friday last in round 2 of the S.F.L. division 1 seven days after recording a comfortable victory over Rathvilly in round 1. On Friday last the seniors could only muster 18 players before throw in and were dealt a further blow when one of those pulled up with an injury in the warm up. The next game in the league will be away to Co. champions Eire Og on Friday 8th March.
Congratulations to our former player Tommy Dwyer who was inducted into the Hall of Fame at the Carlow sports star awards held in the Dolmen Hotel on Friday last. Bennekerry /Tinryland player Cliodhna Ni Se won the ladies football award while former player David O’Shea was honoured in soccer.
Best wishes to our senior player Mark Mullen the team captain and his team mates from SETU Carlow who take on Mary Immaculate College Limerick in the Electric Ireland Freshers championship final at the main campus gaa pitch in SETU Carlow on this Thursday 29th February at 7 p.m.
In the semi-final on Thursday last SETU defeated TUS MIDWEST.
