St. Patricks GAA Club

On Saturday last our under 13 hurlers travelled to Duneske in Cahir to take on Fethard in the South Tipperary Final. Our boys played well during the first half but unfortunately a number of wides ensured that Fethard led by 8 points to 4 at half time. In the second half our boys battled well but Fethard were the stronger side and ran out winners by 2-13 to 0-9. The team was: Rhys Davies, Jack Ryan, Liam Richardson, Robbie O'Brien, Eoin O'Brien, Paddy O'Brien, James Egan, Tom Butler Captain, Aidan Morrissey, Turlough Moroney, Darragh Fitzgerald, Mikey O'Brien, Jack Gleeson, Jack Slattery, Eddie Hayden, Billy Purcell, Daniel Lee, Evan Lawless. Due to illness Tadhg Keating was unable to tog out for the final. We compliment our boys on a great year which saw them reach the quarter final in football and the final in hurling. We thank them for their commitment to training since last Spring. Some boys will continue to be involved with the under 15 team while they all return to playing with their school teams, or some have moved into secondary school. We wish them all the best. Thanks to selectors Tom Egan, Richard Butler, Edward O’Brien, Declan Morrissey, and Liam Fitzgerald for the hard work they have put into training these boys for the last six months or more. Thanks to the parents and Grandparents who have driven the players all over South Tipperary during the year and finally to our supporters who travelled to Cahir in great numbers last Saturday and to many other venues earlier in the year.
