Congratulations to everyone who participated in the wonderful evenings entertainment in Ballycumber Community Centre on Saturday. Fear an Tigh Tony Coolahan was outstanding in the role. The singers Fiona Rigney, Jimmy Donoghue, Niamh Murray and Fr. James McKiernan were worth the entrance fee alone. The Ganly School Of Irish Dancing put on a lovely display. The local and totally under rehearsed Set Dancers gave wonderful entertainment and the performance of Ann Larkin, Tony Coolahan and Frank Bannon in a very funny sketch is beyond words. Thanks to Gerry Kelly who put forward the idea and all who helped on the night. A Great Night out and worth repeating. The large crowd were proof that there is a growing demand for local and inexpensive entertainment.
The evening also marked the launch of the Summer Coaching Scheme and County Coaching Officer Pat Cleary gave an outstanding speech explaining the need for coaching our games at a young age and he stressed that participation is vital to keep young people interested.
At the start of the evening a Banner which was made in 1898 dedicated to St Patrick and The Total Abstinance Association was displayed on stage as Eamonn Larkin read the history of it to the gathering
